### In a strange move, Apple has allegedly disallowed the latest Coinbase wallet release because it wants to collect a percentage of gas fees. With no support for crypto, Apple's own lack of infrastructure makes it impossible for Coinbase to grant Apple's wish.

Coinbase is understandably frustrated (and flummoxed), as the Apple Store and Apple system do not have the technology in place to allow compliance with their demands. The Apple in-app store system is proprietary, and does not support crypto (yet):

Coinbase's thread points out how ridiculous Apple's move is (if the reasons given are true). Now to be fair, the analogy they used is not squarely apples-to-apples (pun totally intended):
