### Cardano has kept plodding throughout 2022, even as the earth shifted for crypto currencies in the bitter crypto winter of 2022.

The Cardano Foundation shared highlights for the layer 1 blockchain in 2022. What stood out the most for us is that Plutus Scripts were up by 394% for the year 2022! 

This statistic shows that the activity on the Cardano blockchain is continuing to grow and accelerate. Considering that this rapid increase is happening during what is potentially the longest bear market for cyptocurrencies, this increase in smart contracts on Cardano is even more impressive. 

Other highlights shared by the Cardano Foundation in via twitter include: 1. An increase in native tokens to 7.30M tokens (up by 192%); 2. An increase to 3.80M wallets (up by 47%); 3. An increase to 56.9M transactions (up by 139%); We believe that the next bull market will be dominated by the blockchains that continued to develop during the bear market, potentially including Cardano.

We believe that these improvements support the argument that ADA’s market share in the next bull run will grow significantly faster than other altcoins, and may potentially outperform Bitcoin.
