### The liquidator of FTX said that he is mulling over the idea of restarting the exchange. 

John J. Ray III said that "There are stakeholders we're working with who've identified what they see is a viable business." 

Ray III also said that "Everything is on the table. If there is a path forward on that, then we will not only explore that, we'll do it." Sam Bankman-Fried, the disgraced co-founder and former CEO of FTX said the he looks forward to Ray declaring the US arm of FTX has enough liquidity to return customer's money. 

A potential reboot though should not be confused as any potential affirmation that FTX was actually solvent. A re-boot means, at most, that the business activity can generate profits. 

However, the issue of whether FTX has sufficient liquid assets to meet obligations is another matter altogether. The simple fact that FTX's international arm also sought bankruptcy protection all but confirms that FTX US had serious problems as well. 

Ray III had already discovered shocking problems in how the FTX group of companies was managed. He recently confirmed to the Wall Street Journal that he is still trying to uncover and retrieve FTX assets and has tasked a group with exploring the possibility of restarting the international arm of the exchange. 

Decrypt pointed out that "this isn't the first time it's been said that FTX could be getting a reboot. Just last week, FTX's creditor committee attorneys said releasing the names of the exchange's 9 million customers could damage a "potential reboot".
