A filing that looked like it was for a BlackRock XRP exchange-traded product caused a temporary 12% price surge for XRP. Gains were lost when the news was debunked.

On Nov. 14, X users noticed a Delaware filing that supposedly showed BlackRock registering “iShares XRP Trust”. Within 30 minutes, the price of XRP reached $0.73 USD, a 12% increase.

However, Bloomberg ETF analyst Eric Balchunas quickly confirmed the news was fake.

This is not the first time [news](https://www.cryptoflash.report/articles/blackrocks-ibtc-back-on-dtcc-coindesk-reports-its-been-listed-since-august) of exchange-traded fund (ETF) products influenced the price of crypto. 

Last month, the price of bitcoin rallied after BlackRock's bitcoin ETF listing on the Depository Trust and Clearing Corporation (DTCC) website was reported. The price then dipped after the ETF listing temporarily disappeared from the DTCC site.
