### After FTX suffered liquidity issues when depositors in large numbers were withdrawing their funds from FTX, it became trendy for exchanges to reveal their reserves to show that users funds are safe. One exchange has more ETH than SHIB. 

Même coins have become immensely popular. Même coins have baffled the whole crypto community with large gains and resilience. A popular meme coin, SHIB was part of a trending topic when crypto.com revealed what it keeps as reserves. 

“Data from blockchain analysis firm [Nansen](https://decrypt.co/114248/crypto-com-holds-20-of-its-reserves-in-shib) shows that the platform holds the largest share (31%) of its digital assets in Bitcoin, followed by SHIB at 20%. Nansen’s data reveals that Crypto.com has about $570 million worth of the Ethereum-based meme coin.”

SHIB is the 14th largest crypo by marketcap, at 5.27B marketcap and USD279M daily trading volume. 

SHIB is defined as: ”a dog-themed meme coin, uses SHIB as its native token. It is an ERC-20 token whose popularity has skyrocketed since the success of Dogecoin. Twitter users were surprised to see much SHIB on the reserves of crypto.com - it’s even more than the ETH held by crypto.com. “#cryptocom” was trending on Nov 12, 2022. 

Mr. Whale found the amount of SHIB “scary”.

CryptoOMG ventures tweeted that the reserve of crypto.com may not be sustainable and speculated that “A bank run may be possible.” 

We hope there won’t be a bank run, particularly because the kind and character of the reserves should reflect what the customers deposited and not what the exchange chooses. 

It’s possible that twitter users assumed that crypto.com chooses what reserves to keep. However, a true 1:1 reserve should be in tokens exactly as deposited. 

As silly as meme coins may seem, the leading meme coins SHIB and DOGE have done better than the supposed tier 1 exchange FTX, that has recently filed bankruptcy and shocked the crypto community.
