### SOL is more vulnerable than other ecosystems to Alameda-FTX FUD. Is it time to take cover? Or is this a chance to fill up our SOL bags for cheap!?

We had just written about SOL being late to the rally, and well, SOL quickly retraced and soon after, the overall crypto market became red. The Alameda-FTX FUD is pouring cold water on the moonvember rally. With the recent crashes of LUNA, Celsius and Voyager ecosystems, the entire crypto market is quite sensitive to FUD; but, SOL is more vulnarable than the rest. SOL has been a long favorite of Sam Bankman-Fried (SBF), the founder of FTX exchange (FTX owns Alameda Research). SBF had even said that SOL will be the [next bitcoin](https://www.fxstreet.com/cryptocurrencies/news/ftx-founder-sam-bankman-fried-believes-that-solanacan-be-the-next-bitcoin-202111270618) and the biggest [DeFi platform](https://finbold.com/billionaireftx-exchange-founder-solana-can-become-the-biggest-defi-platform/)! 

It is also well known that as SBF worked on other crypto projects, SOL was often the favored chain and token, and his support helped SOL gain attention and adoption. 

This relationship is proving to be double-edged. With so much FUD around Alameda, FTX and the FTT token, SOL holders have more to be nervous about than other token holders. 

Twitter is rife with speculation that Alameda is selling SOL to raise funds.

It is hard to know for sure what is going on behind the scenes but we are certain the developing moonvember rally has stuttered, and could be over. FUD (even if later on unfounded) does real damage. 

Our takeaway from this is that it never hurts to be careful. We think it’s a good time to move as much crypto as possible into self-custody wallets, and into ‘safer’ tokens/chains. Liquidity problems can have a domino effect on other exchanges and we don’t know how big (or small) the real problems with Alameda Research and FTX are. 

We are also against panic. In fact, as mentioned over and over again, we are in a season of accumulation. Fear brings better prices that gives good entry points for those that want to hold crypto long term.
