Berkshire Hathaway, Warren Buffet’s holding company, has already generated $130 million in profit this year from investments in Nu Holdings.

Nu Holdings is the owner of the crypto-friendly bank, Nubank. It is Latin America’s largest fintech bank, servicing more than 80 million customers.

Nubank offers services like Easynvest, a trading platform that includes a bitcoin exchange-traded product. It also has a platform that trades bitcoin and Ether. Aside from these services, Nubank also has a loyalty token on the Polygon blockchain.

Despite calling bitcoin a “gambling token” in a CNBC [interview](https://twitter.com/SquawkCNBC/status/1646135432982286338) last April, Buffet made two investments in Nu Holdings. The first was an investment in June 2021 worth $500 million, and the second, in December of the same year with $250 million.

According to its 2023 earnings report, Berkshire Hathaway has not sold any of its purchased shares. Shares of Nu Holding are up by nearly 106% year-to-date, which makes it one of Berkshire Hathaway’s best-performing investments this year.
