### Bitcoin is set to undergo a significant transformation with the introduction of the BRC-69 standard. This aims to remove the data limit for Ordinals, which are Bitcoin's equivalent of non-fungible tokens (NFTs). Previously, Ordinals faced a restriction of 4 megabytes for inscribing data on the blockchain. However, the BRC-69 standard, incorporating the concept of "recursive inscriptions," seeks to overcome this limitation and revolutionize the way information is stored and accessed on Bitcoin.

The key to BRC-69 is recursive inscriptions, which enable data mining and reuse of previous inscriptions. By recycling already inscribed data, this approach substantially reduces the time and cost associated with making inscriptions, slashing expenses by more than 90%. Instead of inscribing a full image, minters only need to include a single line of text, which can then be automatically rendered on all ordinals-frontends using on-chain resources.



By eluding the 4-megabyte limit, Bitcoin essentially gains an internal internet-like ecosystem, enabling files to request and exchange data with each other. This development holds immense potential, although the exact applications and use cases are yet to be fully explored.



The BRC-69 arrives at a time when the Ordinals space is experiencing rapid growth. Bitmaps, a recent protocol allowing users to claim ownership over Bitcoin blocks, has propelled Ordinals to the forefront of daily Bitcoin inscriptions. This advancement not only addresses scalability concerns but also opens up new avenues for creativity and data utilization within the Bitcoin ecosystem.
