### Circle, known for its USD Coin (USDC) stablecoin, is edging closer to launching its own competitor to Coinbase's wallet-building service. The company recently announced a groundbreaking programmable crypto wallet service aimed at developers, allowing them to seamlessly embed secure wallets within their applications.

Circle's CEO, Jeremy Allaire, took to Twitter to reveal that the company had quietly released the initial milestone of its Web3 Services division. It will offer developers a suite of tools to build user-friendly Web3 apps quickly. The programmable wallets will be blockchain-agnostic, enabling developers to utilize them across multiple blockchains without the need for blockchain-specific code. Wallet support for additional chains is in the works; for now, Ethereum, Polygon, and Avalanche are the only ones available.



This move comes in response to Coinbase's "wallet as a service" business, which was launched earlier this year, enabling companies to customize blockchain wallets for their customers. Circle's focus on enhancing user experience and expanding accessibility highlights the increasing competition and innovation within the space.
