Cointelegraph [reported](https://cointelegraph.com/news/tether-issues-4-billion-usdt-4-weeks) that Tether has minted 4 billion USDT over the past month with the latest token issuance occurring on Thursday and Friday, when it added 2 billion USD. According to data by Whale Alert, these were added to the Tron and Ethereum blockchains.

Paolo Ardoino, Tether’s CEO and chief technology officer, posted on X that “this amount will be used as inventory for the next period issuance requests and chain swaps.”

This move follows Tether’s more aggressive minting strategy this year. In February and March, Tether minted 12 billion USDT coins. However, it did burn 1.2. billion USDT in Tron last August and 2 billion USDT in Ethereum in February.

According to Ardoino, Tether is gearing up for next year. In 2024, it has plans for five projects that “could obliterate some popular Web2 centralized services for good.”
