### Digital asset company Bakkt recently made a significant move by delisting 25 out of the 36 crypto tokens from the trading site Apex Crypto, which it recently acquired. This decision was part of the company's routine procedure for reviewing currency listings, taking into account factors such as market interest and regulatory guidance.

The primary reason behind the delisting is the prevailing regulatory uncertainty in the cryptocurrency space. Many companies are grappling with the lack of clarity from regulatory bodies like the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC). Without clear guidelines, Bakkt has opted to remove these tokens from its platform.



The list of delisted tokens includes prominent names like Chainlink (LINK), Compound Token (COMP), Stellar (XLM), Uniswap (UNI), and many others. 



Bakkt, known for its Bitcoin cold storage custody service, allows traditional investors to comply with US federal regulations when investing in crypto. The company is owned by Intercontinental Exchange, which also operates the New York Stock Exchange. The acquisition of Apex Crypto provided Intercontinental Exchange with exposure to the financial technology sector.



While this move by Bakkt may raise some eyebrows, it is essential to note that in the larger context, it is not an unprecedented event. If a major exchange like Coinbase or Binance had taken a similar action, it might have triggered more concern among traders and investors. Nonetheless, Bakkt's decision highlights the ongoing challenges and uncertainties faced by companies in the cryptocurrency industry as they navigate the regulatory landscape.
