### In June of 2023, Binance is going to make its comeback to the Japanese market. The acquisition of SAKURA Exchange BitCoin (SEBC) by the company took place subsequent to SEBC being granted a license by the Japan Financial Services Agency in November 2022.

Users of SEBC are required to remove their funds by May 28th, after which time any leftover balances in their accounts will be converted to Japanese yen and transferred to their respective bank accounts on June 5th. Customers will be subject to extra identity verification and Know Your Customer (KYC) processes upon the launch of Binance Japan in June 2023. 



After an unsuccessful attempt to secure an independent license over five years ago, Binance is returning to the Japanese market in a comeback endeavor. In 2018, Binance shut down its activities within the country after being informed by banking regulators that it was doing business without proper authorization.



Since Japan is one of the world's largest markets for digital assets, this is a major achievement for the exchange. The country has earned a reputation as a leader in the blockchain business due to its strict rules and long-term dedication to the sector.



Binance's entry into the Japanese market is promising for the development of the crypto industry sector. More Japanese companies and individuals entering the cryptocurrency market bodes well for the sector's continued development and widespread adoption.
