While Ethereum continues to dominate the NFT space with a monthly sales volume of $391 million, Bitcoin has emerged as a strong contender, boasting a sales volume of approximately $173 million. Solana, with $53 million in revenue, now finds itself in third place.



One of the primary factors contributing to Bitcoin's success in the NFT realm is its implementation of BRC-20 tokens. This development gave Bitcoin a substantial advantage over other blockchains such as Polygon, ImmutableX, BNB Chain, and Solana during the current surge in interest for NFTs.



The rise in popularity of BRC-20 memecoins played a crucial role in Bitcoin's triumph. In the first half of May, the market capitalization of these memecoins surpassed an impressive $1 billion, and even though it has slightly dipped to $447 million at the time of writing, it remains a substantial figure.



To name a few, some well-known BRC-20 tokens that have gained traction include ORDI, MEME, and PEPE. These tokens, despite lacking intrinsic value, have attracted attention due to their unique characteristics and the cultural significance associated with them.
