### China continues to take significant strides towards promoting the use of its digital currency, the e-CNY, as reports indicate that all civil officials in the city of Changshu will receive their salaries in digital yuan beginning in May 2023.

The move will see public servants, public institution workers, and state-owned enterprise employees in Changshu paid in digital yuan, marking a significant step towards the adoption of the centralized digital currency. This action comes as China seeks to curb the dominance of the US Dollar by encouraging the use of the e-CNY.



Changshu is in the province of Jiangsu, which launched a digital yuan pilot program in the first quarter of 2023. By 2025, they hope to have implemented an effective and user-friendly system of operations and management for the digital yuan.
