### The now infamous, Sam Bankman-Fried (SBF) is reportedly still in the Bahamas, ‘under supervision’. The FBI has been coordinating with Bahamian authorities and discussing the possibility of extraditing.

 It was only weeks ago that SBF was a celebrated personality in crypto. He was lauded to be the white knight as his crypto empire was busy bailing out other troubled crypto companies. As the news of Alameda Research’s insolvency broke, the problems at FTX unravelled quickly and SBF found himself quickly turned into a pariah in the crypto community. 

The crisis that is ensuing has been dubbed to be the ‘worst ever in crypto history’ - even worse than the Mt. Gox crisis in 2014. SBF had recently reassured the public that as far as the crypto company insolvencies, the ‘worst’ was behind us. 

Fast forward to today, SBF is facing the prospect of extradition. Bloomberg reported that “conversations between law enforcement officials in the two countries have intensified in recent days.” 

SBF has been “cooperating” with Bahamian authorities. The whereabouts of SBF have been under constant speculation, with some even tracking SBF’s private jet as it flew to Argentina last wee, Nov. 12, 2022. It was later clarified though that SBF was still in the Bahamas with other individuals connected to FTX: Co Founder Gary Wang and director of Engineering Nishad Singh. The three were suspected of arranging for transportation to Dubai, a country without any extradition agreements/treaties with the United States.
