Elliot Han of Cantor Fitzgerald shed light on the changing perspectives within the institutional investor community. He noted that while there is still considerable excitement surrounding cryptocurrency, investors are now exploring its potential from various unconventional angles. Han expressed a keen interest in uncovering alternative use cases that may not be immediately apparent. This shift in focus reflects a growing desire among institutional players to expand their understanding and tap into the untapped possibilities offered by digital assets.



One of the hot topics at the forefront is the concept of "tokenizing" physical commodities such as gold using blockchain technology. Many industry experts argue that this approach would enable financial institutions to provide their customers with greater transparency and information about their investments.



It is worth noting that American financial institutions had already embarked on pilot programs exploring blockchain technology between 2015 and 2016. These initiatives primarily focused on private blockchains rather than public networks like Bitcoin, with a key objective of integrating the system into private banking institutions.
