### After the bear market of 2022, the smart money has finally made its move, and large financial institutions are beginning to deploy capital worth trillions of dollars into cryptocurrencies.

Large banks and financial institutions are exploring the potential of cryptocurrencies and blockchain technology. Some are investing in cryptocurrencies or developing their own digital assets, while others are offering services such as crypto custody or enabling customers to trade digital assets.


The banking and asset management sector's interest in cryptocurrencies has been driven by the increasing popularity and mainstream adoption of these assets, as well as the potential benefits they offer such as lower transaction fees, faster payment speeds, and increased security. 

However, banks are also cautious and are proceeding with caution due to regulatory uncertainty and the potential risks associated with cryptocurrencies, such as price volatility, hacking and security concerns, and money laundering. 


According to Bitcoin Magazine (@BitcoinMagazine) on Twitter, BlackRock, Goldman Sachs, and BNY Mellon are expanding crypto products and services to its institutional investors worth trillions of dollars.

Financial institutions have been quietly developing their own crypto products and services while the crypto market was still at its lows. 

Meanwhile, because of the economy's unpredictability and the Federal Reserve's decision to increase interest rates to curb inflation, retail investors may be avoiding investment decisions.

Analyst Willy Woo recently brought up the idea that institutional buying is taking the lead, based on readings from the exchange inflow monitor:
