### A recent report by Divly, a Swedish crypto tax firm, has revealed a startling statistic: less than half of one percent of crypto investors worldwide have paid taxes on their investments in 2022. The report’s findings highlight the ongoing challenge of enforcing tax compliance within the crypto industry, which has seen explosive growth in recent years.

According to the report, Finland has the highest percentage of crypto investors who have paid taxes on their investments at 4%, followed by Australia, Austria, and Germany. In contrast, the United States ranks 10th, with only 1.62 percent of crypto investors reporting paying taxes.



The reasons behind this lack of tax compliance may be influenced by the market downturn in 2022, which saw many investors experience losses in their portfolios.



Whatever the reasons, governments around the world are taking notice and ramping up their efforts to crack down on tax evasion within the crypto industry. The United States, for example, has been working to improve tax compliance by requiring crypto exchanges to report transaction data to the Internal Revenue Service (IRS). Other countries are exploring similar measures to ensure that crypto investors pay their fair share of taxes.
