### As part of its research, McKinsey surveyed over 3000 consumers and executives on metaverse adoption. 

According to McKinsey, technology companies, venture capital (VC), private equity (PE), start-ups, and established brands
are all searching for ways to benefit from the opportunities of the metaverse. 

Beyond just searching for entry points, McKinsey also noted that massive investments have been made in 2022 alone: $120B from January to May 2022, which greatly eclipsed the $57B invested in all of 2021.

McKinsey noted that it the metaverse will challenge existing firms, employees, developers, and creators to re-skill themselves in order to benefit from the metaverse instead forcing themselves to fight its disruptive and creative power.
