### According to recent data from Glassnode, the number of distinct Bitcoin wallet addresses containing at least one whole Bitcoin has surpassed the significant milestone of one million. This development further solidifies the growing adoption and interest in the world's leading cryptocurrency.

On May 13th, Glassnode's research revealed that the one million Bitcoin per wallet mark had been reached. This news highlights the increasing number of individuals who have amassed substantial holdings in the digital asset. These "shrimps," as they are often referred to, represent a diverse group of people who have witnessed remarkable growth in their Bitcoin holdings over the past few years.



The surge in wallet addresses with one Bitcoin or more can be attributed, in part, to the market's volatility. Throughout the past year, the price of Bitcoin experienced a drastic decline. Interestingly, the largest increases in the number of addresses occurred during moments of market turmoil, such as the severe crash in June and the fallout from the FTX collapse in November, which led to bankruptcy filings.



However, it is important to note that this milestone does not necessarily imply that one million individuals possess these wallets, as individuals can hold multiple wallets with one whole Bitcoin. Nonetheless, the significant rise in the number of addresses holding at least one Bitcoin is noteworthy.
