### The Digital Currency Traders Alliance (DCTA) has launched a new online advertising campaign titled "Stop the SEC" to rally retail investors against the US Securities and Exchange Commission's (SEC) enforcement-first approach towards cryptocurrencies. 

The non-profit organization has urged retail investors to contact their congressional representatives to oppose SEC Chairman Gary Gensler's enforcement-based regulatory approach.

According to the DCTA, the SEC's enforcement tactics unfairly hurt small-scale cryptocurrency investors and the "Stop the SEC" campaign aims to help retail investors "demand regulatory clarification" from authorities and defend them against the SEC's overreach. The campaign emphasizes the need for a collaborative and constructive approach to regulation, rather than a purely enforcement-based approach that disproportionately impacts small investors.



In recent months, the SEC has taken a strict stance against cryptocurrencies, citing concerns about their potential risks to investors. However, this has been met with strong opposition from the crypto community, who argue that the SEC's regulatory approach stifles innovation and discourages investment in the sector.



Kevin Trommer, the Alliance's Deputy Director, emphasized the need for everyday consumers to connect with their Congressional representatives and tell them firsthand how the SEC's regulation by enforcement approach to crypto is hurting their investments. The DCTA's campaign comes at a critical time for the crypto industry, as regulatory scrutiny continues to intensify.



The DCTA is not alone in its efforts to push back against the SEC's regulatory approach. Several lawmakers, including US Senator Cynthia Lummis, have also expressed concern over the SEC's stance towards cryptocurrencies. Lummis, who is a well-known proponent of Bitcoin, has argued that a more collaborative approach is needed to ensure that investors are protected without stifling innovation.



In conclusion, the DCTA's "Stop the SEC" campaign highlights the need for a more balanced and collaborative approach to crypto regulation.
