### Sberbank, Russia's largest bank, announced its plans to offer crypto trading services to its customers. This move comes as the United States continues its regulatory crackdown on the crypto industry, while the rest of the world is making encouraging progress in embracing blockchain and digital assets.

Customers of Sberbank will soon have access to crypto asset services, allowing them to buy and sell cryptocurrencies through the bank. Initially planned for April, the launch of these services was postponed but is now expected to take place later this June.



In addition to crypto trading, Sberbank is also planning to introduce transactions in digital financial assets (DFA). The bank's board chairman, Anatoly Popov, believes that Sberbank could issue digital assets worth tens of billions of rubles in the near future, further solidifying its position in the growing crypto market.



The move by Sberbank to offer crypto trading services is seen as a positive sign for the global cryptocurrency industry. While the US is tightening regulations, Sberbank's entry into the market demonstrates a contrasting trend in Russia, where blockchain and digital assets are being embraced.



Alexander Vedyakhin, the bank's vice president, highlighted the potential benefits of this development, stating that it could bring more liquidity to the bank as investors show interest in cryptocurrencies.



Sberbank's foray into the crypto space aligns with its previous ventures in blockchain innovation. The bank launched Russia's first exchange-traded fund (ETF) focused on blockchain technology, and it obtained a license from the Russian Central Bank to engage in cryptocurrency activities.
