### In 2022, crypto companies were shelling out millions of dollars in crypto advertisements in the midst of economic uncertainty caused by the COVID-19 pandemic and the Federal Reserve’s decision to raise interest rates.

Some of the most notable cryptocurrency ads were aired during the Super Bowl LVI. These ads were aimed to raise awareness of cryptocurrency and its potential uses, as well as to promote specific cryptocurrencies and related products and services. 



While the cost of a 30-second advertisement during the Super Bowl can be quite high, proponents of cryptocurrencies argue that it is a worthwhile investment in terms of increased brand recognition and public exposure.



However, due to the economic uncertainty caused by the COVID-19 pandemic plus the Federal Reserve’s decision to start raising interest rates to lower down inflation, cryptocurrency companies still chose to invest significant amounts of money in Super Bowl ads as the annual football playoffs is one of the largest television events of the year, with millions of viewers tuning in from around the world.



As a result, numerous black swan events happened in 2022 and left a terrible taste in everyone's mouth when crypto prices were drastically plummeting for the entire year. Therefore, no such advertising will be present at the event this year.



It is possible that some crypto companies were not saving enough for their company reserves, and instead, were using funds for advertising and other expenses. The crypto industry is still relatively new and rapidly evolving, and some companies may have made decisions based on short-term growth rather than long-term stability. 



The recent slowdown in the crypto sector has caused several organizations to examine their financial plans and make changes to ensure they can weather any future issues. However, it is also important to remember that not all crypto companies were splurging on advertising, and some companies may have substantial reserves and are well-prepared for any issues.
