### The UK government will present proposals to regulate crypto-asset operations in a way that provides consumers and businesses alike the confidence and clarity they need to engage in blockchain transactions.

According to the UK Treasury, an extensive set of regulations for the cryptocurrency industry will be subjected to consultation that will soon be initiated. With regards to admissions procedures and token issuer transparency, the proposed laws would require cryptocurrency exchanges to develop extensive criteria before listing new assets.

Due to declining token valuations and platform failures in 2022, investors lost billions of dollars, and authorities worldwide expanded their scrutiny of the asset class.
